Roman Herz

Partner

Roman Herz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Herz Legacy Planners Inc. and Founder of Herz Financial, is one of leading insurance agents in the world. His distinguished career in the insurance industry has won him broad industry-wide recognition for his vast skills, knowledge and insights gained from 40 years of serving the complex insurance needs of high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

Born in Germany in 1946, Roman is the son of two Holocaust survivors. His family moved to Israel in 1948 and Roman spent his childhood outside of Tel Aviv. In 1956, the family decided to move to America. After graduating from The University of New Haven, Roman went into the insurance business and a few years later he started his own company. By 1984, Roman had built one of the leading insurance operations in New England with 8 locations and over 50 Sales Associates, which he later sold to a Fortune 500 insurance company. Roman went on to continue to manage this operation as President, and subsequently in 1990 took the firm private again. Roman continued to expand the firm’s client base by focusing efforts on Estate Analysis and Wealth transfer strategies.

Roman loves golf and he belongs to Mizner Country Club in Delray Beach, Florida. He is an avid artist both in painting and photography. Roman especially cherishes his time with his five grandchildren.

He is a past member of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The Estate Planning Council, and The Million Dollar Round Table. He is a Past President of The Hartford General Agents and Managers Association, has been an Agency Management Training Council Moderator, and is a Past President of the Connecticut Life Leaders Association.

Matthew Herz

Managing Partner

Matthew Herz is the managing partner of Herz Financial, LLC and founder and President of Just DI. He is a strategic financial planning advisor with 18+ years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry.

Matthew specializes in financial planning, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement and other corporate benefit plans, wealth management, employee benefits, trust planning, irrevocable life insurance trusts, custom life insurance design, succession planning, buy sell agreements, life expectancy analysis, and negotiating insurance underwriting.

He has significant experience assisting business owners with complex personal financial management and the coordination of various advisors in an integrated manner.   Matthew is a nationally recognized speaker and writer on Life and Disability Insurance. He has published many articles and has been quoted in several publications including LIMRA International research reports, The Hartford Courant, Life and Health Advisor, Registered Rep, and Insurance Marketing. Matthew has been the featured speaker for numerous events and seminars.

Matthew is a graduate of Bentley University and The Life Underwriters Training Council Fast Track Institute at the American College of Insurance. Matthew is a past member of The Hartford Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and The Million Dollar Round Table, Top of The Table and has been named to The Council by John Hancock.

Matthew currently serves as a board member and was past president at the West Hartford Youth Hockey Associations

Randy Herz

President

Randy has worked at building Herz Financial into a highly specialized boutique firm designed to offer financial services and serve the needs of ultra-wealthy business owners and their companies. Randy is a nationally recognized expert on Estate Planning and Wealth Transfer, Business Buy Sell agreements and Trust Owned Life Insurance.

Randy is a Registered Investment Advisor representative of Ameritas Investment Corp and has over 20 years experience in portfolio management and investment analysis starting out his career on the bond trading desk of Conning Asset Management.

He has been quoted in numerous articles including USA Today, The Chicago Tribune, Financial Planning, Advisor Today, and others, as well as being quoted in the biography, “Emeril, Inside the Amazing Success of Today’s Most Popular Chef”.

Randy is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Business and Public Management and where he received his MBA in Finance and his undergraduate degree in business. Randy is a graduate of The Life Underwriters Training Council Fast Track Institute at the American College of Insurance.

He is a past member of The Hartford Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and The Million Dollar Round Table, Top of the Table. He has served on numerous civic boards including the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center and Israel Bonds.

Randy currently serves as a member of the board of trustees of Hebrew Healthcare and is a member of the board of Chabad Greater Hartford.
